공주시출입기자협의회가 3일 공주한옥마을 백제방에서 공식 출범했다.

이날 출범식을 개최한 기자협의회는 '정견·정론·정직' 을 표방하면서 △일간투데이(류석만·회장) △파워뉴스(이창선·고문, 오희숙·사무국장) △충청신문(정영순·부회장) △대전경제뉴스(한영섭) △뉴데일리(이길표) △세계뉴스통신(고일용) △브레이크뉴스(김정환) △세종방송(이병기) △동양일보(유환권) 등 9개사가 회원사로 참여했다.

이들 언론사는 공주시를 주 출입처로 대전·세종·논산·부여 등 인접지역까지를 광범위한 취재 권역에 두고 활동을 펼치게 된다.

기자협의회 창립 출범 행사에 앞서 참석자들은 지난 주말 '이태원 참사'로 희생된 고인들에 대한 명복을 기원하는 묵념을 거행했다.

기자협의회 정영순 부회장의 경과 보고로 시작된 이날 창립 행사에는 이순종 공주시 부시장과 윤구병 시의회 의장을 비롯해 임달희 부의장, 김권한 산업건설위원장, 이상표·이용성 공주시의회 의원과 정종업 공주농협 조합장, 이충우 사곡농협 조합장등 각계 각층의 인사 40여 명이 참석해 기자협의회 창립과 출범을 축하했다.

참여 회원사 소게에 나선 기자협의회 이창선 고문은 "그동안의 일부 지역 언론들은 우리 시민들의 눈과 귀를 다 가리는 행태가 있었던 것이 사실"이라며 "여기에 있는 우리 회원사와 회원 기자들은 기자협의회 활동을 통해 공주시민과 전국에 있는 모든 국민들의 눈과 귀를 가리지 않고 오로지 정론직필하는 언론의 사명을 다하기 위해 여기 모였다"고 말했다.

류석만 공주시출입기자협의회 회장은 “시민을 대하는 태도는 낮고 겸손하게, 실체적 진실을 파헤칠 때는 매섭고 엄중하게, 팩트 앞에서는 어떤 불의와 압력에도 굴하지 않는 언론사 본연의 모습을 보여 드릴 것”이라며 “정견·정론·정직을 목숨처럼 여기는 기자협의회가 되겠다”고 약속했다.

이순종 부시장은 축하 인삿말을 통해 "오늘 공주시출입기자협의회 출범을 진심으로 축하드린다"며 "앞으로 좋은 언론 단체로서 거듭 발전하시기를 기원드리며 아울러 우리 공주시와 함께 호흡하며 우리 시민들께 봉사하는 노력을 기대한다"고 말했다.
