서천군이 2023년 청사 이전을 앞두고 남겨질 現 청사에 조성하는 복합문화 공간의 새로운 이름을 주민투표로 결정한다고 밝혔다.

군은 지난 5월 5일부터 19일까지 15일 간 ‘현청사 네이밍 공모’를 진행했으며, 접수된 83건 중 행정, 주민위원회, PM단의 1차 심사를 거쳐 통과된 10건과 기본계획 당시 사용했던 명칭을 포함 총 11건에 대해 6월 17일까지 주민투표를 진행할 계획이다.

새롭게 조성될 복합문화 공간은 주민 누구나 자유롭게 방문하여 즐길 수 있도록 이야기기록관, 목공방, 카페, 요리방, 놀이방, 기록방, 건강방, 잔디정원 등을 구성할 예정이다.

1차 심사에서 공간의 특성과 장소의 상징성을 잘 담고 있는 후보작으로 △서천마루 △읍성문화정원 △방선동공원 △서천문화뜨락 △서림원 △서천문화포동청 △문화누리터 △서림랑 △서천애터 △서천이음복합문화공간을 선정했으며, 여기에 기본계획 사용 명칭인 △문화의숲을 함께 투표에 붙였다.

주민투표는 서천군청 인터넷 홈페이지 내 군민의 소리의 설문조사 탭에서 참여할 수 있으며, 인터넷 사용이 어려운 경우 서천중심지지원센터에 방문하면 된다.
